When an airline loses a passenger’s luggage it normally doesn’t go down very well at all. But for one passenger, the experience was truly uplifting – because the airline returned his lost bag by helicopter.
Kris Ancone from Charleston, South Carolina, traveled to the tiny town of Talkeetna close to Anchorage via Alaska Airlines. But when he arrived at his destination, his luggage did not come off the baggage carousel and he couldn’t wait for it – he needed to head off and build a cabin in the Alaskan wilderness.
The airline discovered the case was still in Charleston so hatched a plan of getting another carrier to fly the bag up to Anchorage before sending it onwards via a helicopter.
