This is the Hua Shan Mountain, reputed to be a place where mystical healing herbs have grown for years and home to a Daoist temple infamous for its inaccessibility.
One of China’s Five Sacred Daoist mountains, Hua Shan located east of Xi’an (about a 2 hour bus ride). Consisting of four peaks, this cliff side/plank walk is located near the South Peak.
Over the years, tourism has prompted the cutting of new, safer paths up the mountain and there’s actually a cable car you can take up if you want to avoid these crazy plank paths.
