Driving over a steel rod during one of the stages, the front wheels of Grönholm’s Peugeot 307 WRC shot the rod up through the underside of the car, piercing Rautiainen’s seat and causing a not unsubstantial amount of pain to the poor co-driver’s backside.
Cue Grönholm’s immortal line at the stage end: “Something came through Timo’s seat, up into the asshole of Timo.” The rectally-impaired Rautiainen bravely finished the rally, however, navigating Grönholm to second place behind Sébastien Loeb.
