Retired teacher Ella Mae Colbert set a new unofficial world record for the 100-meter-dash by a 100-year-old at Chesnee Middle School in South Carolina.
Colbert finished the sprint in 46.7 seconds, much faster than current world record holder and fellow American Ida Keeling, who set a time of one minute and 17.33 seconds in Philadelphia on May 3, just a couple of weeks shy of her 101st birthday.
Colbert is now waiting for the Guinness Book of World Records to confirm the new record.
