The video was captured by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation surveillance cameras along the Racine Street Bridge.
At the start of the video, the 37-year-old woman is seen riding her bike along the bridge despite warning gates blocking her path.
She’s seen hitting one of the gates before swerving and falling into the gap of the bridge, which had opened to allow boat traffic to pass.
Police said the bridge operator was alerted to the incident and made sure the bridge stayed open until help arrived.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital and treated for facial injuries after being pulled out of the gap by several Good Samaritans in the area.
