When it comes to drag racing, having ‘Ludicrous’ resources at your disposal seems to be quite advantageous, even against genuine supercars.
This video shows a Tesla Model X P90D (the flagship version) going up against a Ferrari F430 Spider, which back in the day was considered one of the world’s fastest convertible exotics.
The two drivers execute both rolling starts as well as standing starts, where you’d have to assume that the all-wheel drive “takeoff” of the Tesla is quite capable of shaming the Ferrari’s rear wheel drive system.
According to the manufacturer, the Model X P90D is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds with Ludicrous mode, before maxing out at 155 mph (250 km/h). The F430 Spider on the other hand needs 4.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph), but thanks to its naturally aspirated 4.3-liter V8, it’ll keep going all the way to 311 km/h (193 mph).
