This shirtless inmate, who climbed onto the roof of the prison he’s detained in, has been involved in a stand-off with the police, lasting nearly 30 hours and counting.
Police scrambled to Her Majesty’s Prison in Chelmsford, Essex, on June 11, after a shirtless inmate miraculously managed to climb his way onto the roof of the detention center, where he was seen shouting and throwing objects.
Walking down Sanford Road adjacent to the prison at approximately 1:30pm, Jon Gilbert, 29, of Grays, Essex, captured the unidentified inmate waving a large pole just over an hour into his bizarre protest.
Shouting and chanting from the rooftop, the prisoner’s stalemate has now been in motion for over 24-hours, and the prisoner was provided with a blanket through the night to keep him warm.
