An Illustration Of How Quickly Things Can Go Wrong In A Steel Factory

A worker escapes death when the chain carrying a cauldron filled with molten copper breaks, making it tip over. If this steel worker had stayed where he was for 10 seconds longer, he would have been right in the splash zone when the molten steel spilled.

It looks like the cauldron holding system was not checked, the towlines should be loose and the crane operators were not aware. According to the HSE report, the wire rope disconnected and the molten copper poured due to imbalance of cauldron, fortunately no one was hurt.

The question now is how they’re going to clean that up?
