The end of the NHL regular season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with the arrest of a Detroit Red Wings fan who decided to throw an octopus onto the TD Garden ice?
It happened during the third period. No goal was scored or anything, so it’s not like there was a break in the action. Also, the Red Wings were losing 5-1 at the time.
Perhaps hoping the aquatic tribute would give his team late life, or maybe just assuming it was now or never, Jeffrey Farrugia let the octopus fly.
There was a brief stoppage while the staff got out their handy octopus removal gear (a shovel and a bucket) and got the thing out of there.
