Sarah, a student at the University of York who admits she studied Geography at A Level, was asked to name a country with two consonants at the end of its name. Fair enough, your mind can go blank when you’re on national television and under immense pressure.
If you really can’t think of any, just name any country at all. What you don’t want to do is name a city, like Sarah, who said “Paris” (which doesn’t even end in two consonants) – and her mate’s face said it all.
You can almost see the moment their friendship implodes as Mariam frowns, rolls her eyes and looks away, exasperated with the whole thing.
