In Milwaukee 27-year-old Melissa Smith stopped at a gas station to fill up her minivan. Leaving the vehicle for just a second to collect her receipt, someone drove up next to her in a darkcar, jumped behind the wheel, and began to drive off.
As she related later, Melissa saw the would-be car thief leaving with her car, and thought to herself: “This is not happening to me today”.
Jumping onto the hood and slamming her fist on the windshield, Melissa said she could see the thief at her, showing “zero remorse” for her actions. When he realises he’s not getting away and abandons the theft halfway through, Melissa had to chase the car down the street so that nobody else was injured.
