This video is about an island in the ocean at 2000 km from any other coast line. Nobody lives there, only birds and yet, you will not believe your eyes!
This is a fairly recent phenomenon because when fishermen used to dump their garbage into the ocean, it was made from organic materials like paper, cloth and metal — which would all either biodegrade fairly rapidly or sink.
Plastic, however, does neither and instead floats on top of the water for as long as 400 years. The water surface is where many animals search for their food.
