Footage emerged on Weibo, a Twitter-like Chinese social media site, shows a silver dual camera-equipped iPhone X with a complete cracked screen and back. A man can be heard joking about the smashed phone: ‘Does it look better now? It’s more unique, haha.’
According to Chinese technology information site IT 168, the iPhone X was dropped just hours before the phone was to go on sale officially.
The clip was believed to have been filmed at a retail shop in China where workers were preparing for the launch.
It remains unclear how the brand new phone had got smashed, but it’s been claimed that the phone’s other functions worked properly.
