A crash test video has shown how deadly riding in the back of a pick-up truck could be.
The dramatic footage, created by the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program, captures a silver car travelling at speeds of 56mph.
A white pick-up truck can be seen at the other end of the track with dummy passengers sitting in the bed of the vehicle.
The car crashes into the truck and the dummies can be seen hurtling through the air.
The clip was produced to warn against riding in the bed of a truck, as while it is legal in North Carolina for people aged 16 or older to do this, the agency still advises against it.
