Ballet Workshop Offers Unique Experience For Kids With Special Needs

Young children with special needs learned ballet positions to plié, pirouette, and jeté with Orlando Ballet dancers through “Come Dance With Us.”

The program encouraged children, ages 3 to 6, to express themselves through the art of dance while exploring new forms of movement that support their physical development. During the program, Orlando Health rehabilitation services experts worked with participants to provide helpful tips and instruction as the dancers choreographed lessons to meet the needs of participants.

An opportunity to step outside the children’s typical rehabilitative setting, “Come Dance With Us” was designed to enhance mobility, strengthen independence and bolster confidence in a fun and creative setting.
