McConnell was sleeping when he was awoken by his wife, who told him the shop next door to their house was being robbed. Being the hero he is, McConnell hopped out of bed with only his underwear on and confronted the thief who was making his escape.
The thief made a getaway, but McConnell jumped in his car — still in his underwear — to chase him up the road, where he then told police where to find the assailant.
“All I had was me jocks on and he was chasing me up the street and I’m just like, mate!”
