A 12-year-old Alaska boy wins the 42nd Odor-Eaters National Rotten Sneaker Contest with some unconditional methods. Seven contestants from around the U.S. put their best and smelliest foot forward at the Odor-Eaters 42nd National Rotten Sneaker Contest in New York.
Twelve-year-old Connor Slocombre claimed the honour of having the worst smelling sneaker after three attempts in the contest.
Contestants were judged on the odor outside and inside the shoe by a team of four judges that included a NASA certified master sniffer.
Techniques for developing the prudent smells included never wearing socks, stepping in poop and walking through creeks.
The winner walked away with $2,500, Broadway show tickets and is inducted into the Odor Eaters Hall of Fumes.
